Hallamshire win Club of the Year at S&D Dinner

Hallamshire T&SC were awarded the prestigious Club of the Year award at the Sheffield & District LTA Annual Awards evening last weekend. The club had enjoyed a highly successful season winning the Mens Division 1 title and were runners up in the Ladies and Mixed top divisions. The club also won 3 junior league titles, continue to provide a high quality coaching programme and are working on the ongoing development of the club.
The Coach of the Year was awarded to Dave Marray, the Director of Tennis at the Academy, who deliver coaching programmes at the Hallamshire, Hallam Grange and Rustlings. Dave has made a huge contribution to tennis in Sheffield over many years, providing high quality coaching and supporting the development of coaches in the city. He has also worked with a number of world ranked players, including his brother, Jonny.
The May Medal was awarded to Jess Redfearn from Fulwood LTC. Jess has contributed across many areas of tennis in Sheffield over recent years. She is a member of the Sheffield & District LTA Management Committee and plays a lead role in the organisation of the Annual Awards. She was instrumental in developing the S&D website and also oversees the Coach grants scheme. She previously oversaw the Parks programme in the city and has also worked for the LTA. She is the Assistant Head Coach at Fulwood and is a very worthy winner of the May Medal.
The Presidents Award was this year presented to Peter Ledbetter, the Head Coach at Beauchief LTC. Pete is another popular winner and has been a big supporter of the Sheffield & District league for many years. He has played a key role in developing many players through his work as the Head Coach at Beauchief.
